Can we talk about this game
I just beat and holy fuck that was disturbing
apparently there's multiple endings too?I used joy so I guess that triggered mine?
Brad turns into a mutant no matter what
>Lisa thread
>The ending was so good, guys, I swear!
>Always the same thumbnail image
Does anyone honestly believe this game isn't being shilled?
>>339308513
You might be a retard, go get checked
>>339308513
>shills for a 3 year old indie game
yeah okay
Brad turns into a mutant no matter what, however, if you go joyless, you get an additional cutscene.
You will now be wondering if you should go play the expansion called LISA: The Joyful. The answer is a resounding no. Not only is it a boring game,it's also a really poor conclusion to the story that might as well be considered fanfiction. It ruins all the best moments of the game you just played.
But I know this is probably not gonna deter you. It certainly wouldn't deter me. Just a shame that piece of shit was released.
>>339308795
It's not even two years old yet, calm down your horses.
I know /v/ has shit taste but I'd genuinely like to know if this is good or not.
>>339309081
It's pretty good for what it is.
>>339309081
It's Earthbound-like
Tumblr didn't latch on it because of all the racism going on and the strong themes
>>339309081
Depends on what you like and dislike. I thought it was really good. The exploration was solid since the game has somewhat open levels, no hand holding and a Metroid-inspired progression. Also made more enjoyable by the absurd situations you encounter in the game, and all the extra characters you can recruit. It can be a bit tedious since there is plenty of backtracking involved, your movement speed is rather slow and in the beginning everything kills you. The combat is really shallow tactically but there is a decent amount of experimentation involved with building teams and it has a nice "anything can happen" feel to it. The story's good too although the whole difficult choices aspect is overhyped. Even if you don't connect with the characters there's still a lot of dumb dark humor to enjoy if you like that kinda thing.
>>339309286
I once heard that there was a streamer who had pink hair and was obese and through out the stream she was constantly being offended by the game
>>339308797
I disagree, he should buy Joyful at least when it goes on sale, the OST has some really good songs (Brokentooth March and All-American Badass come to mind) and at most it takes around 2-3 hours to beat (Whereas The Painful takes around 7-8 hours).

B A T H B O Y S
>Brad had to watch as his father raped his sister
I don't even have a reaction image to convey what i'm feeling
>>339310436
What the fuck, where did that flashback happen?
>>339310558Marty: So you wanna be a man. Be tough... Sick of getting your ass kicked. Well, you don't need all that Karate shit your grandad did. It's worthless. Here, boy. I said, here.
Brad: ...
Marty: Take it!
Brad: ... I don't want it.
Marty: Do as you're told!
[Drinking of alcohol]
Marty: There ya go... Finish it. That's right. Now then. Let's go see your sister...
So how much of a difference does Pain mode add? other than probably being harder
>>339309286
Lisa doesn't hold back.
This is also why it's good. It's able to take advantage of the best possible trait an indie game could have; not needing to appeal to some casual mass market by dampening its execution
>there are people that defend marty
>>339308797
This guy is a faggot and is wrong and gay
>>339309286
>racism
What?
>>339312692
in the intro of the salvation rangers, the black ranger does ape noises
in fact, someone from tumblr asked Dimmadong to change it and he told them to fuck off
>>339312810
Good, I'm glad Dale Dimmadong was not swayed, that's fucking clever, he even says "no race jokes please" because the real black power ranger was black!
>>339312024
Yeah but at the same time, that's part of why it hasn't sold like hotcakes.
Thankfully Dingaling has more talents than just being an amateur storyteller with access to basic coding and RPG maker so he doesn't need to make a shitty indie game for money.
>>339312810
In black rangers flashback, it was also revealed he was really fat.
I liked the designs of the rando army men, they got really creative around round 2 at the end.
>>339313195
>Thankfully Dingaling has more talents than just being an amateur storyteller
Two things
1. Fuck you, he's a decent story teller
2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSud7WAVhcw
I actually live in a town called Olathe
>>339308902
yeah that just got me really fucking anxious for some reason
It's weird to think super mario 64 is 22 years old now as well
>>339313682
if you know a girl named Lisa, make sure she doesn't kill herself
If you know a guy named Bernard, tell him to stop being a prick
>>339313376
>>339315543
Average Lisa fight
>>339313682
Only God can save you.
Wallydid nothing wrong.
you nerds should do more LISA cosplays. There's only like, 5 of us out there.
>>339308797
This guy isn't a faggot and totally right
I completely agree, The Joyful was unnecessary. It had its moments but it ruined the perfect ending of The Painful and added 1 hour of maximum edge and a shlocky, hamfisted ending
>>339313682
Be safe, anon.
>>339312032
>there are people who actually defend Lisa for not being behind the problems in Lisa the Painful
>>339316502
I'm planning on doing a buzzo gang member. Mostly cause it's just a mask.>inb4 baneposting
>>339316502
I would, but I'm far too skinny to cosplay as anyone in Lisa. Everyone is far too muscular
>>339317201
Yeah, Lisa was behind a lot of characters problems. But as the cause of the problems in specifically painful? Its a bit of a stretch.
>>339317446
Honestly, Lisa the Joyful proves that everything is the cause of Dr. Yado
I feel such intense hatred for Marty, fuck that guy, I'm glad he died
>>339317585
Please don't bring up Joyful in LISA threads, it bums me out.
>>339317761
Yeah. Fuck that guy. Deserved all he got.
I can't understand why people try to defend him. There was that one guy a few threads ago that spent a long time defending what marty did for some reason.
So spoilers related question here:What was the purpose of Marty showing up in Lisa the Painful? Why was he hiding in that cave where you find him with Buddy?
>>339318059
The fuck kind of idiotic question is that? The dev wanted him in there, that's why.
>>339317958
Why? Because the game was sad or because you're sad that it exists.
I honestly don't understand the hate that most people give Joyful, It was a decent end to the story and wrapped up a couple of questions and loose ends. Also it had some of the best fights in the game beingSidney Gallows, Big Lincoln, and of course fighting Brad in Buddy's vision was depressing.
>>339318059
That's just where he ended up.
>tfw thought it was better than Undertale
>>339318403
Everything's better then undertale
>>339310063
Is the video on Youtube? Because I would love to see that.
>>339318335
>It was a decent end to the story
It really wasn't.
>and wrapped up a couple of questions and loose ends
Literally everything that Joyful reveals we already knew from Painful's ambient story if you paid attention.
>>339318613
>>339318796
But he's correct.
>>339318980
>>339319038
But that anon is correct. Everything is better than undertale.
>>339318796
remember to thoroughly cook your fish
>>339319265
>>339319704
What even is this anymore
>>339320021
>>339309081
It's not.
Look at this thread. At ANY Lisa thread. How often do you see anyone talking about the actual gameplay?
Short answer: NEVER. It's always about 'muh ending.'
>>339318646
I don't think so
>>339320754
i mean, high level gameplay is gas spit and fire. it's not a difficult rpg unless you do a joyless, no birdie, pain mode run.
>>339308797
>Lisa: The Joyful is shit
Tired of this meme. It'salright.
>>339320754
Because the ending made it all. And the gameplay is not bad, the combos you can pull off with joystick are pretty neat, plus party members with different stats and attacks. Totally worth the 3 dollars ive paid
>>339318796
Yiff in hell furfag, your game is a mess.
>>339321034
>kill a main character
>then kill a main character
>then kill a main character
>then it ends
It was ok, but it was waaay too fast in ending. if it had spaced out the deaths some it would have been a better finish.
>>339320958
somebody took their time to make that image.that's hilarious
>>339321414
it's a good time to be alive, man
>cutting off both your arm instead of sacrificing your partner in any playthrough after the first one
i seriously hope none of you guys do this.
>>339322629
B-but it's the canon way to play the game...
>>339310425
