PS3 probably had it worse, only because it had no games for about 2 years. 3DS had no games for around a year. No games means only three or four games worth having the system for in this case.

Sold fine its first few months actually, over 3 million at launch which is not bad at all. Didn't sell much worse than Xbone did at launch. 3DS did much, much worse at launch, Nintendo had to drop the price almost immediately.

Personally, I found the PSP to have a really poor launch. There were tons of hardware issues like non-responsive buttons, or buttons falling off, or dust/air trapped in the screen. In addition to the typical lack of games at launch.

it was an incredibly terrifying moment of pure indifference to how much money I just spent on essentially a 6 hour long game only to never touch the thing ever again
