My favorite part about the series is the designs (not counting the shit in the Zero and ZX series).
OG megaman designs are simple yet endearing. The designs in X and onward have more detail and depth, but they never add too much and they keep it original.
I hate most sci-fi designs that were made in the past decade because they have a bunch of useless lines, lights, and other shit that just makes them look like an eyesore. The designs in the X series and other megaman series have enough depth not too look simplistic but at the same time they're not futuristic vomit on a screen.

Misadventures of Tron is underrated and replaying powered up recently made me realize it'd be the best game in the classic series were it not for the bad art style and some of the bad remixes.

I only played X1 and X4 and honestly I'd rather replay several classics before the X games
X1 is some vidya hall of fame material, and X4 is one of the best things on the PS1 library, but neither of those games are as easy to simply pick up and play compared to (most of) the classic series. I'd say it's because I don't think going for upgrades and shit is very fun on the fifth playthrough, much less the ones that require backtracking.
For the first playthrough I'd say they're better than any Classic game, but after that I'd prefer being able to beat 3 in any order and at a much faster pace than doing the optimal route with several points of required backtracking and literally always starting with chill penguin in X1.

I noticed a few people saying 8 is their favorite, and I would like them to explain why they picked it. I have played 1-10 more times than I can count, and 7 and 8 are my least favorites, so I am actually curious.
I don't like 8 because, while it is totally gorgeous, I don't think it really feels like a Mega Man game. It is a decent platformer, but the levels seem too long and gimicky, and I don't really remember much of the soundtrack besides Clown Man's level, which isn't that great.
