This game was the shit when I was in middle school. I would print out the faqs in gamewinners on how to unlock all the characters and capsules, but once I got gud at fighting games and played superior race fighting games, this game turned out to be shit.

Original Crash trilogy has actually aged amazingly well precisely because it was essentially a 2D platformer with 3D graphics so it didn't have to deal with those early 3D platformer problems at all.

SA2 Battle
It's only 1/3rd of a good game and the other 2/3rds is awful. Knuckles/Rouge missions are way worse than the SA1 Knuckles missions and the Eggman/Tails missions are worse E-102 missions from SA1. Not to mention the wasted potential in having Eggman playable in a Sonic game only for him to literally play exactly like Tails, who is in a mech for some stupid reason and not just walking normally.plus the music for SA2 is worse than SA1

I played Tekken 5 around the time I started weaning off from Budokai 3, and right off the bat I could tell there's a world of difference in quality between the two. One held your hand and had stupid gimmicks to make people who suck at fighting games feel good about sucking, whereas another had a much more subdued approach. There aren't even any fireballs in T5, unless you count DJ's eye laser (and that move sucked), and you had to actually GIT GUD to enjoy it.
My friend introduced me to mvc2 and that game was like what DBZ should have been, it was fast paced, frantic, large colorful cast, and had gorgeous 2d sprites but by no means would a shitter be able to play it. Even UMVC3, which is a lot easier is 10x better than that game.
Smash is an even better "play with friends who don't like fighting games" fighting game and is a lot more complex and competitive than most other fighting games I played.
Oh and I played JoJo and THAT's how you do an actual anime fighter. It's hilarious that DBCucks never got a legit fighting game but Persona, Jojo, and FotNS did.
Oh yeah and SFV, which I'm playing now is great.
