This game sucks dick and feels like a chore

If you like harvest moon you'll like this. if you have no idea what harvest moon is go fuck yourself and find something else.

Yes it's fun. When I bought it I sank about 35 hours into it for the first two weeks. I haven't played it in months now. It kind of just hits this point where you're like "what the fuck am I doing, why do I care" . Maybe there's something more to it since I stopped but it just becomes the same thing over and over. You basically try to have a better year than the last year. Years are measured in 4 seasons. After 4 seasons the year is over. A season is about the length of one month. So you get 4 months per yeaR

Its fun but the NO CONTENT kicks in as early as year 1 if you rush things which is what you are supposed to do in farming sims.

That's not true.
There are a whole bunch of things you can't get year one, simply because you can't buy the seeds. It is possible to get nigh infinite money in year one, but to do that you already have to know what you're doing. And you don't, unless you look up strategies online.

Content drought is probably year 2 for most competent people on first play through. Longer if you take it slow or if you want to make a beautiful farm. A lot longer if you want to go completionist-autism-mode but the game is pretty awful in that regard so I wouldn't recommend it.

maybe, end of year 1 is an exaggeration but by year 2 summer, I did everything and had too much money. Granted I did look up fishing spots and how to properly plant a tree since I hated the fishing minigame and my trees didnt grow for a season

Dev promises content patches though.
Also the game has great modding potential.

So far the only cool thing I've seen is edits to the map. Could be wrong, but I don't think there are any mods that add new characters, new items, new dialogue/cutscenes, or actual content in general. And I'm assumign that if those things were possible people would make them.

New crops, new weapons, new machine are also already made.
New dialogue and cutscenes - there are a ton of various marriage mods.
