I thought it could've did more. For being the last, could've been bigger, better balance, more weapons/armors. Should've learned over the course of 4 previous games, then end with a bang. Nope. Still a good game.

I still don't see why poise does nothing. I thought there could have been a few more bosses spread through 2 or 3 moderate sized areas. Though really they needed to make it slightly more interconnected like in dark souls 1. Game was amazing though.
What was your SL and play time when you finished your first run? What build did you use?
SL 90 and 65 hours, about 5 hours of idling. Went STR with sword and shield.

This. Best case scenario, they were rushed to pump out all the iterative sequels they did, and now they might have some breathing room to do something different. That's probably an incredibly optimistic hope, though
I don't get the fanservice complaints. It's a fucking sequel to 1 of course it should have stuff from 1 and I hope there's more stuff from 1 in the DLC. Also fix the weapon balance as well as poise.

I didnt like any of the areas. The only time I was amazed was when I saw Ithryll Boreal Valley, just like when I approached the path to the castle in DS2. And, just like the castle, then I discovered that it was boring, like a smaller Crown of the Ivory King DLC.

I put just about all my souls into vigor, endurance, and strength up until the end of the castle. Then I started buying all the weapons and armor from the shrine maid. I also upgraded a few weapons for ng+.

DS2 has it's own "castle town", it's "that dark underground full of treehouses", it's own "majestic castle"
We got cool in-game references like Gargoyles, sunken Anor Londo, two poster boy armor sets like Alva and Faraam

Worst of the sries, but still a 9/10. Has little to no atmosphere, little content, no memorable moments or zones except Irithyll, inferior gameplay with no poise, no slow strategic combat. Terrible graphics, everything is grey. And no this isn't because muh ash, it's the fucking bloodborne engine who can't into colors and lighting. No good covenants (not sure if being able to swap on the fly is good or bad)
Still, the best game to come out since DS2.

My first playthrough was with longsword->lothric knight sword->carthus curved sword. It was pretty fun. I haven't died to anyone except cinder and firstborn maybe twice.
Then on other playthroughs I used bastard sword, claymore, mirrah, astora great sword. I went through 2 ng cycles with yhorm's machete and dragonslayer greataxe, and some with halberds and spears.
I honestly can say mirrah and astora greatswords are broken and extremely easy to play the game with. Yhorm is almost on par. I haven't used black knight greataxe or glaive too much, but greataxe seems like it is pretty op as well.
There is no bias for dex weapons, and this is coming from someone who loves dex. Sure, dark sword and estoc are gg but they are not fun for pve.

DaS3 is what DaS2 should have been. I hated DaS2 utterly and was one of the biggest disappointments Ive ever experienced. DaS3 is my favorite overall, especially the gameplay.
Fave music?
I like Watchers, Dancers, and Brothers themes. Betrayal firelink is also nice.
Most others themes are just generic unmemorable choir pieces.

I like most of what you just listed, but add NK and SoC themes. Nk theme just puts me on edge and makes me uneasy for some reason.
The world needed more interconnectivity. I like that I can go straight to Lothric Castle on NG+ but then they arbitrarily lock off the Grand Archives. Every run follows the same path and it gets old fast.

Playing on default kb+m here, never once successfully parried an attack.
It was great and it's certainly better than Dark Souls 1 and 2.
It's on par with Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, but Bloodborne is still probably the best of them all.
