According to Mikami, part of the core concept of Resident Evil's gameplay is "waiting for that perfect moment to counterattack a superlethal enemy and blow them to pieces".
To put you in a position where it's "flight or fight" makes perfect sense to me and it creates tension, which itself is perfect for a game that's split between a more action-y direction and it's survival horror roots.
Go play something like Gears of War if you can't handle a good game
just a tip: when you get to the minecart segment switch the framerate to 30 fps locked, otherwise the QTE becomes impossible and you'll have to repeat a 5 minute segment

Just finished it today for the first time.. you're in for a fucking great game buti did experience a weird bug when i closed the game properly, it fucked up my pc for some weird reason and i had to install the latest driver update for my gpu again. i recommend you alt+tab and close the game that way. maybe its just my graphics card is on its last legs though.

Not OP but i've been playing RE6 since i never finished it, it's been kinda fun to be honest but i skip most scenes and just play the game like an arcade shooter, not caring about dying (which doesn't matter since Helena always ress my ass and dying is ACTUALLY better than wasting all your healing items). Thing is i dont really know about skills or utility weapons, i've been using the knife a LOT and it seems to do a lot of damage, also kicking and suplexing everything.
Will this fuck me up in the future? Any tips for a solo player?

Pick wisely-
Red-9 is steady with the stock & does more damage per-shot, (ammo efficient)
Blacktail's higher-dps, but harder to control.
Punisher can beat both against crowds & is great for CC, (aim at group's legs, trip 5 at a time).
Handgun's for true patricians, but is useless until it's completely maxxed out. (headshots don't mean SHIT in this game)
Shotguns- wood's stylish but objectively inferior to the Riot, which is the most expensive gun to upgrade in the game. Everyone who has shit taste lauds the striker because >muh 100-round mag, but it's only good for 2 meters infront of you.
Auto-sniper's leagues ahead of the bolt-action, but you don't NEED either so..
Handcannons are unnecessary but fun.
Minethrower's only worth it if it's the only weapon you're carrying, (ammo drops depending on your inventory).
TMP is GOD-TIER. There is no need to have anything else.

QTE in this game is great, especially in Krauser boss fight.
Herbs can be combined.
In combat never stay in one place, try to run or outmaneuver mobs.
There are some backtracking to get items with different conditions.
Saving a lot doesn't have penalties, game also has a rating system where if you die then it will lower the difficulty, you can reset this by loading your save file instead.
