Looks like the new Xbox One iteration will have Oculus Rift support and push up to 6 TFlops and run all existing Xbox One software. Which obviously means this isn't an all together new console, just a hardware upgrade, albeit a massive unprecedented one. 360 compatibility would naturally still work the same. One major developer is already working on an Xbox VR game. A redesigned controller is also in the works. Naturally 4k support is planned. This box will be available Fall 2017.
The question now is, how in gods name do they make it retail for less than 800 dollars!?

Dunno. They've got a big chunk of edram that takes up a lot of space and now they're adding an additional 4TF of power, that can't be a small chip at all. Probably 500mm2, which would put it in gtx1080 range. Not to mention wattage. These can't just be shrinks either or they'll overheat. It just sounds like a really expensive setup. Sony's in the same boat too to be honest just less so.

Tflops don't mean shit. When will people learn this. FLOPS is how many times a second a processor can do 1+1. It's theoretical at all and is not an accurate measure of performance in a real world situation. Different hardware and software can and does operate differently, and though the end result is the same, the method it achieves it is entirely different.
It's like saying a 200 horsepower engine is super fast. Maybe in a sports car with a lightweight body and sleek design it is. But that 200 HP engine isn't going to get the same kind of speeds in some 10 ton dump truck.
Same logic applies here. 6TFLOPs doesn't mean anything unless we know a lot more about the hardware and software.

Best advice in this entire thread - especially considering prebuilts tend to cheap out on secondary components (power supply units being the most common one) which limits a lot of options when it comes to upgrading.
I am whore for whomever has more power. I already invested too much on PSN, so if the bone is more powerful i ll just get that and keep my ps4, but if the ps4 is more powerful i ll get the new ps4.

Well we have no idea how A,D has shrunk their existing APU lineup as at a core level all the ps4 is is one of their higher clocked APU's with some extra ACE units found in hawaii based gpus.
If I was a betting man I would bet the ps4 neo is a semi-custom take of the original design but with the gpu side being made from tonga/fiji (aka 380 and fury lineup) rather than the entirely custom setup the ps4 has.

The ps4's gpu has 8 ACE units - something found exclusively in hawaii based gpus. The newer GCN cards (primarily tonga anf fiji based cards) use HWS - a component that fulfills the role of ACE as well as doing other things.

Polaris will soon™ be unveiled allowing AMD to supply the half gen consoles with something new, also considering that Zen is on the horizon also points in this direction. Allowing to create more efficient consoles while maintaining the compatibility. Microsoft wants to have something so that Sony doesn't beat it to the punch. And it is only natural if you are using pre-existing and old architecture to update it regularly since normally a cost of creating a brand new board with new processor that isn't based on x64 architecture would be:
1. Time consuming
2. Would require more money
This way you can perform small upgrades which offer boost in performance but are still efficient in terms of cost (for the manufacturing of course).

AMD is using Polaris 10 from now on for their semi-custom APUs, which is what PS4 and the Xbone run off of. The reason why PS4 needed to upgrade was because the process GloFo used to make those custom Jaguar APUs is being phased out entirely by the end of the year.
It's not Hawaii-based either. it's Curacao which predates Hawaii and uses an older version of GCN.

All 28nm GPU fabrication will cease by the end of the year, including the 380X and Fiji. The 380X's direct replacement is coming out within a week or so (paper launch, as usual for the ever-incompetent AMD) and Fiji was nothing more than a proof-of-concept for HBM that they decided to sell. Neither will continue to be made by the end of the summer (if they haven't already ceased by now).
The PS4 update will have Polaris 10 for its GPU, but I'm not sure if a low-power Zen or updated 28nm Puma (which will still be in production) will be the CPU component. Puma/Jaguar is not the same as the Construction cores, in case anyone was wondering. They are actually eight complete cores, not 4*2.
