Sony is going to push the PS4K HARD. Get ready to have that thing shoved right up your ass.
They're even going to imply that the additional processing power of the system will give you an advantage in online gaming. Not even joking. Pure pay to win.
Microsoft is going to have two Xbox systems. One is a slim version of the Xbox One with a 2 TB HDD. It also has some under the hood fixes that people won't discover until somebody does a hardware teardown.
MS is also going to unveil Xbox Scorpio. This thing is a fucking BEAST and it will be FAR MORE powerful than the PS4K. It will also come with the new Pro Controller they've been selling for $100. It will even feature a model with a 5TB HDD.
Retailers are getting ready to jump ship on the VR hype train. Sony will push PSVR for about 20 minutes in their conference, but expect very little in terms of actual content and compelling games.
Nintendo is showing NX behind closed doors and the industry is really fucking excited. They're also showing their next portable, in specs only.
Nintendo will also have some unannounced 3DS titles, along with some surprises for the Virtual Console, and some cool new Amiibos. They know everything thinks they're coming to E3 with nothing but Zelda, so they want to surprise people. They also want to help retailers move that last batch of Wii U out the door.

They own E3 and put on the show. It's a multi million dollar operation.
Basically they set up the show, and lease the convention center years in advance. They then sell floor space to companies, at a huge premium.
The total cost for doing the show for 3 days can run into the millions of dollars. For example, Nintendo pays around 8.5 million for everything they do at the show. This includes renting booth space from the ESA, setting up their booth, hiring people to work on the show floor, etc.
Nintendo used to outsource their booth workers to a modeling company on the east coast that specialized in trade show reps. Now they use mostly their own employees to save money.
I hope there is little to no VR.

This isn't even remotely true.
Windows PC and Xbox One are both MS platforms. The idea that "well it's also on PC" is a fanboy fallacy that doesn't reflect the console market or the reasons why people buy console games.
The reality is that MS has created the largest eco system for developers to exploit, and a great reason for them to dedicate resources to MS platforms.
This is going to be the shittiest E3 ever, the game industry is on its last legs before we have another market crash. I'm hoping for some NX info and some surprise WiiU and 3DS stuff but this is very unlikely.

It's a universal matter of fact that the One lacks reasons to own it, especially with the recent shift MS is going for One>PC multiplats.
More than half of launch year Xbone exclusives are on PC already, and half of the current and upcomming games are also going to be on PC, with the only major exceptions being halo and gears. Even Forza is on PC now on some form.
Not to mention they keep closing studios, Lionhead being the latest, and with them go the games.
Scorpio being 6x more powerful than Xbone doesn't change the lack of software in any way. MS will still be pushing UWP's (AKA not Xbone exclusive anymore) after its release.

I travel quite a bit and there's no way I can build a PC as powerful (not in specs, but in actual game performance) as the PS4 while keeping the same size and most importantly the same weight, without spending over a thousand on a "gaming laptop". If you want PC on the go, commit to a mini ITX build without optical drives, using only a single SSD, a small heatsink, an itx form factor GPU and an SFX form factor PSU. The PS4 1200 weighs 2.5kg with an HDD in it. With an SSD it probably weighs like 2.2 or 2.3kg. Shit's pretty fucking light, I can comfortably lift my PS3 Super Slim with my left hand and it's about 2.1kg.
