One of my favorite games. Not just indie games, but games in general. It is utterly fantastic. Really interesting and well made visuals, tight controls, fun combat mechanics with tons of impact feedback making everything feel hugely powerful.
Whenever I talk about Iji I sound like I'm talking in constant hyperbole, but I really fucking adore this game. Both versions of the soundtrack even, my god.
I wish there were more games like it. So unique.

It's nowhere near Iji's quality, but Super Crate Box is a great arcade-style little game.
Also, optional microtransactions shouldn't exclude games here. Team Fortress 2 (even though I don't like it), Dota 2, League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm, Warframe, Hearthstone, Smite, War Thunder, Path of Exile, Ghost Recon Phantoms, RaceRoom, and the new Unreal Tournament should be up there.
They've got some great games in that list, but I find it hard to believe that PC Gamer can put Sonic Dreams Collection, Double Action:Boogaloo, The Expendabros, VVVVVV Make and Play, and Canabalt up there over the games I mentioned on top of forgetting Iji. Seriously?
