I refunded. The game is boring. Game modes are uninteresting, character designs are extremely hit or miss with some of them being awful and the skill the cap seems to low on most of the characters. Overall it seems to shallow, decent enough fun for a few days but I know I'd get bored in a few weeks.
All these critics praising the shit out of it are idiots, it's an ok game and better than what I expected but it doesn't have legs for anyone beyond the league of legends audience. I expect it to be the next big thing among casuals though.

Substantially better than many other games. Not only are the unlockables irrelevant to gameplay, but they can be acquired by playing the game. This is a huge step-up from TF2, where you only find an unlockable once in a million, and beyond that you have to pay on the store with real money or buy keys with real money.
At least the loot crates give numerous items not necessary to be good at the game, and you can open them for free.

Is the game as good as TF2? No, TF2 was designed and balanced meticulously, even the way it's designed visually is fucking genius really, you can identify a certain class easily from the other side of the map, the animations and such are designed so each class is clearly discernable even in the middle of a huge clusterfuck and these are all things that are issues with Overwatch, along with comparatively shoddy map design.

I really personally can't see a depth to this game even in ranked. We will just see the meta team comps that end up being the best. Some teams will obviously have better communication but past a certain level i really don't feel like OW has the gunplay/tools to allow for individuals to improve significantly at its core gameplay. Its just slow and on your own you will largely die unless you have a ult or you're someone like Tracer/Genji one of the few characters with good mobility for escaping bad situations.
I feel like ults were the worst idea i've ever seen in a shooter. Its like power weapons with no map control. Some are shit and some are fucking braindead and too easy to team wipe with if you pop two at once with people. Usually /v/ is actually right on games (After they come out) except I don't like the souls games (though have put in 109 hrs on dark souls apparently). Overwatch looked bad to me to begin with, then felt bad that I might miss out with other people...then got shown it was worse than previously thought, This is all of the bad shit with LoL and Tf2 rolled into one, of course it isn't exactly like them, it's the bad shit of them.
Overwatch is a marketed game to people who don't play games and esport lovers. So not for people who already play games. And if you won't accept that then it is just the kids summer blockbuster game, it will not survive past a year.
