So Moonside Lake is, according to the wiki:
Reminscent of a Dreamcatcher. In Native American folklores, a dreamcatcher is a spiderweb-like device made for catching nightmares from the dreamers with the help of a spider.
The Moonside Lake is a large scaled Dreamcatcher which contained an actual spider for catching actual nightmares.
Rom prevented nightmares like Mergo and Moon Presence from materializing. So if Rom's gone, what new nightmares will come out from the deep?

Don't really care.
Good for Naughty dog to have made a bestseller but i don't really like shootlers on consoles or any of the Uncharted games for that matter. Bloodborne is just more of my type of game. Remember when Dark Souls had just come out and everyone just assumed that if they ever did a sequel then every game in the series was going to take place in a unique and distinctive universe because that's how it was between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls?
I really wish they would have done that. The series should have always just been Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne.

What is it about Great Ones that makes them so transcendentally intelligent, anyways? >>338771842
>What is it about Great Ones that makes them so transcendentally intelligent, anyways?
Not that they're smarter.
They just have the capacity to interpret higherdimensional knowledge.
Just higher dimensional beings.
They have no definite physical shape, and simply take on some varied nonspecific physical form when being interpreted by lower dimensionsl creatures.
Like an ant who doesn't understand three-dimensional space compared to a human.
They don't have the physical capacity to understand.
Mesoamerican Souls when?

Mensis set up a ritual after having snatchers fill their bags with all citizens they could find and bring them to the town square.
everybody got sacrificed and became a big ball of guts to serve as the body for the great one, which is apparently the guy at the top, who was apparently killed before he transformed into an ayy or whatever. so the witches ring their bells at midnight during a full moon and he gets reborn.

No thanks. Use some Dune excuse to force melee combat in please. Ranged combat is inherently boring, there's just less you can do with it and it just turns every game into a point and click adventure.

>>338770091

BLOODBORNE II BABYYYY!
>>338772519
I'd be boring if we just assume that From would opt for a traditional style of third-person shooter combat, but one of the things that made Demon's Souls such a cult hit is that it's melee combat system was very unique and carefully designed, owing to the fact that it has remained fundamentally the same for the entire series. If you just described Demon's Souls as a "third-person action RPG where you fight with swords" it would sound completely derivative and uninteresting, but the actual mechanics of the combat are much more experimental than that description implies. But now we're five games deep into the series and we're seeing other major releases like Lords of the Fallen and Nioh taking very obvious inspiration from this system and it's now kind of starting to shift into it's own boring, played out "tradition."
I'd like to see From start experimenting again as much as they did when they first made Demon's Souls. Bloodborne has some refreshing experimentation in its mechanics, but the basic structure of Demon's Souls is still glaringly present and to me it's getting kind of fucking old.

I'll never get why Paarl gets so much attention. When I saw fanart or pics of the game, there was so much of him that I thought he would be a vital character, but he was just some shitty optional boss that's not even that hard to kill.
Is his cool design the only reason people give a fuck about him?
>>338774421
I personally think DS3 is probably second only to Bloodborne as the best game in the series. People hold up Dark Souls as an unmatched masterpiece, and I can totally understand why, it's an incredible game, but in my opinion Dark Souls 3 is a totally mechanically superior game marred by the fact that it completely fucked the lore sideways and rehashed way too many areas to ever feel as original as Dark Souls did.
>>338774931
It's literally just because he looks fucking cool. Is there really any other reason to draw fanart of a character other than the fact that you like their visual design?
>>338774421

Why did Micolash keep his human form while everyone else turned into blobs if he was probably the one most affected by all that eldritch knowledge?
Why didn't he turn into some monstrosity like everyone else in the game who got too deep into forbidden shit?
>>338774231
I personally have never played an ARPG style game where the ranged combat was nearly as interesting as the melee.
>>338776613
probably because he didn't actualy go that deep into forbidden shit and just kept studying Kos.
