I used to play Chaos in 8th, but I think their horde playstyle is a bit out of my comfort zone, plus they seem a little way away from the action.
I've always loved the Orcs and think they might befunto play, but don't like how easily they've broken in battle
The dwarfs have always tickled my pickle too, and static defensive battle lines have always been my forté

What keeps me from wholly falling in love with Total Warhammer is my growing sense that it works because Creative Assembly ripped-out most of the strategic guts out of the game and left a facade in their place. For instance, one reason that the stakes for each battle are so high is because it’s nearly impossible to field more than one or two good armies in a game. The economy won’t allow it. Even deep into my games, the majority of my income came from “background income”, which is what Total Warhammer calls your baseline “money from the ether” income. In other words, the actual economy of Total War: Warhammer can’t really sustain any of what you see on the campaign map… which also means that expansion simply adds to your vulnerabilities without contributing resources to your war-chest.

I actually feel a little bit ashamed. I'm generally not one to buy into hype and I actually had no interest in this game whatsoever until I saw a thread like this one a couple of days ago as I know nothing about Warhammer. The OP had a link to gameplay as Vampires and when I saw that you could raise the dead and somewhat farm battlefields, I was sold right there and preordered. The more I've looked at it since, the more hyped I've gotten. Especially with regards to Chaos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSO0Tdr0kDs). Looks like it could match Shogun 2 for quality. I just pray I'm not being deceived like I was with Rome 2.

Just realized something I am going to love about this game. It has real Anvil Breakers. All these videos I've seen when Trolls, Crypt Horrors, Demigryph knights and the like hit an enemy line you can actually see it buckle instead of the usual infantry wall running into infantry wall and then freezing while the guys in front stab and replace eachother.

There is an artwork of the three different kinds of greenskins (no squigs and snotlings mentioned): an ork in very strange armour, very front heavy, textured like a symmetric turtle shell, he wields is an axe with multiple disc shape blades, goblin looked like a viking but has a futuristic looking handgun, the third was taller than a ork, female, slender - probably a nigmo. But in the photos of actual miniatures only show the old orc style. There is a subfaction of waaghkins that changed allegiance from the old gods to grimgor incarnate and are much more ferocious than their cousins.
