Being a Japanese singer requires being a part of the actual Japanese race, fluently speaking the native Japanese language, and being raised in Japanese culture.
Being a programmer doesn't require any such cultural heritage. No one plays a game because they have "Japanese programmers" like someone listens to Japanese music because they have Japanese singers or watching Japanese porn because they have Japanese actors. That's just retarded.

Here's the truth about this whole shit: The "JRPG" term only started appearing during the 7th gen after anime art in videogames stopped being the norm when gaming became much more mainstream than ever. The term was used first by underage normalfags who started gaming during this time period and weren't used to rpg, or any games, with anime art.
Before that, everything was just called an rpg or TRPG or ARPG, no country differentiation. So stop pretending there's an actual definition, because there never was any. At best it refer to japanese developed RPG, at worst it simply refer to anime games.

Main character being a silent protagonist is a minus for a Tales game.
