I best DS3. I actually really like it. I started a second character and got recently far and... I sort of got burned out?
I decided to pick up Bloodborne and I've been having a blast. End game with my main character (quality) and I'm already passed Amelia with my second Skill/Bloodtinge character and I plan to keep playing.
The difference is that Bloodborne is done with Old Hunters and DS3 is still being balanced and waiting on DLC so I'll be returning then but right now I'm having more fun with BB.

Played both (pic related). The truth of the matter is that Bloodborne was simply weak as fuck on release.

As for the difficulty, while I fucking hate this nonsense argument that "HURR, SOULS GAME HAS TO BE DA HARDEST TO BE DA BEST", even then all the evidence points to Dark Souls 3 at the very least being more difficult than Bloodborne:

the lore is great, the setting is both atmospheric and gorgeous, the level design is fantastic and the gameplay mechanics don't seem particularly offensive, although im not a fan of gemming weapons and would maybe like some more weapons in general.

Bloodbornes first two bosses fucked my shit up but after that they were a breeze, DS1 was my first Souls but outside of O&S, Seathe and some annoying areas, I didn't have THAT much trouble. DS3 was my most recent Souls and while not difficult, some bosses genuinely FUCKED my shit up (Pontiff)

When honestly the difference between Bloodborne is like an amazing Horror Story. And Dark Souls 3 is an amazing epic tale of a hero.
Bloodborne is harder but only by game design. You have to farm bloodvials early game cause enemies killed dont give enough money. Bosses have huge amounts of health and quick high damaging combos.
What I loved in bloodborne was Trick Weapons. Amazing every single one. Chaluce Dungeons were fun in a punishing way. A lot of amazing boss fights and top tier weapons,gems, and runes are there. Basically the more PVE you do the better you do in PVP which i liked.
But Dark Souls 3 has cool armor sets, a large variety of weapons, a cool ring system, and true build options.
Dark Souls 3 might be easier but it has its pros and cons. And personally i platinumed Bloodborne.
I cant wait for the DLC and the next soulsborne game.

Trick weapons were one of my favorite things too. Sure, there weren't "a lot" of them, but they had a ton of variety in builds and movesets. Aside from some overlap in the beast cutters, each one was basically its own unique play style. Compared to something like DS3 where 90% of the weapons are just copy pasted movesets with slightly different numbers, and I just can't see why people prefer DS3 weapons more.

Name me 5 weapons that are identical to one another. Shouldn't be hard, you have around 100+ weapons to choose from.
As someone who has played the series for over 3600 hours
I've played Bloodborne for over 800 hours and still thinking of new playtroughs and ways of doing things after 100+ playtroughs.
I've played DaS3 for 200 hours and have almost no motivation to play it more. I'm doing co-op now but it still isn't as fun.
Bosses are either complete and utter pushovers or annoying one shot simulators.
Beyond that, they're ridiculously simple and usually consist of very basic sweep, poke, slam movesets.
Their mechanics are blatantly annoying like off-camera one-shot explosions in Armour and teleports that unlock your camera and change their moveset mid combo in Lothric.
After those annoyances, the bosses just aren't as complex as in BB. BB bosses usually had multiple break points with individual health bars, DS3 bosses are mostly just knights with barely any poise at all, or shitty "hit glowy thing" gimmick fights.
Beyond that, the gameplay feels unbalanced in the way that they made enemies and bosses sonic-tier fast but kept the player as a slow lumbering idiot like in all the souls games. You're faster than usual, sure, but the balance just isn't there. Slow strength weapons are barely worth using because of their slowness and the fact that the damage output just isn't comparable.
The setting is generic and boring, music is muddled and overblown with random noises, the lore and story is a fucking mess like always in Souls, the endings solve nothing, a lot of areas are downright retarded horrible, PVP is complete shit, weight limits and armor weight ruins any concept of viable fashion souls setups, linearity kills replay value, a lot of weapons and entire weapon classes are fucking useless, the game has a ridiculous amount of cringy fanservice and other pandering, and on top of anything else - its too little too late.
It brings barely anything new to the table and the new things that it brings are barely worth using at all.
Its a boring game most of the time.

I'm more of a PVE guy. PVP has never been good in the series, and never will be. The broken combo/poise system in 3 just proves it. Its ridiculous how simple it is to one shot entire gank squads because some weapons just have infinite stunlocks.

I've completed the game on SL1, I have every boss kill on my youtube if you care to take a look. I've also done LVL4 NG+6 in Bloodborne but I almost lost interest halfway through NG in Dark Souls 3. The weapons are boring as fuck and bosses just aren't as fun.

They're barely more fleshed out, this was argued in another thread and they were more or less the same. The "trickster" gimmick is the equivalent of choosing to one hand and 2 hand your weapons, you don't even have multi item management (in that you can't dual wield weapons without them being apart of the trickster moveset).
They were surprisingly comparable in complexity with Dark Souls 3 obviously winning in sheer quantity.

Weapons in DaS3 within the same class almost all have the same moveset with little variation, don't have unique running r2s, and charged r2s don't function as well as they did in BB due to no multiplier system. Most weapons also don't have any difference between the swings in a combo outside of dual weapons and the hollowslayer and drakeblood greatswords
Meanwhile in BB you have unique attacks for every weapon with running and rolling r1's, r2s, and l1s, with different multipliers on every hit, different hits in hit combo (roughly up to 4), different trick attacks, and each weapon actually functions very differently when tricked unlike 2handing in DaS3
You can argue all you want but BB has way better movesets that are much more varied and have way more personality

Bloodborne's weapons are objectively superior to DaS3 weapons in terms of moveset variety. This isn't debatable.
DaS3 can claim a larger variety of weapons themselves, but the movesets are more limited between each weapon, and only boss weapons and shit like Black Knight weapons from older games have unique weapon arts. It's the same problem the game has had since DaS1, but became far more pronounced in DaS2.
I'd be perfectly happy with another game like BB that sacrifices the bloated list of weapons in exchange for more variety in the weapon movesets themselves, but it seems like most Soulsfags just want to be able to choose between 20 Greatswords that all use a random mix of the same grab bag of animations.

look man, we've all played a Dark Souls game, we all know how it works. You don't need to pretend like those who play Bloodborne are foreigners to the concept of dark Souls weapons movesets, especially considering 80% of DaS3's arsenal are old weapons ported over with slight tweaks, sometimes.
The point is that every Bloodborne weapon is actually viable and most of the movesets are useful and actually used in practicality.
In DaS 3 why would I ever use the bandit's knife? why would it ever not get switched for literally anything else? There are also better quickstep weapons, so the weapon art alone doesn't justify it.
With the Sellsword twinblades (and 90% of any other dual wielded weapon) why would I not just spam L1 all day long in PvE when in most cases it's so much better than L2>R2 and doesn't use FP? or spam roll>attack in PvP (especially gotthard twinswords and drang twinspears)
