If you played the open beta for Overwatch, you probably ran into Bastion. A lot of people new to the beta felt he was overpowered and called for Blizzard to nerf the character. What people might not know is that Bastion is in the shitter tier for competitive, averaging a whopping 1.7% pick rate. (source: http://www.planetoverwatch.org/10-overwatch-hero-meta-report )
So, how can these two facts be reconciled? A character who is basically unplayable at high levels, but dominates at low levels due to lack of skill/game knowledge at low levels. I found this to be a very interesting game design dilemma. I would like to hear suggestions/thoughts on this character design.

What's to reconcile?
Some characters have low skill floors, others have high skill ceilings. The former will dominate casual games, the latter will dominate competitive games.
Why does this need to be reconciled? It's normal.

I don't doubt people will actually take it seriously, but it's really not unlike the people who wanted TF2 to be taken so seriously in a competitive scene. It is just not the kind of game for it because it is flawed in it's creation. It could become a competitive game if the above issues were fixed and obvious balance issues overcome, but Blizzard or Valve doesn't need to even bother with all that since retards will flock to anything others say is competitive whether it should be or not. They will defend it in countless arguments daily online and off. Basically if you believe that Overwatch should even be considered a competitive title in it's current state, then you are exactly the audience Blizzard wanted money from, congrats. Thanks for literally falling into the same easy to spot scheme that Activision created with Cowadoody.
