I'm really looking forward to this game because I've got three friends getting it on the same day and we can play through the game together.
I'm also a fan of online co-op that lets you continually level up and gain equipment, I played through Dragon's Crown until my PS3 died (Only 20 levels from 255 with Wizard ;_;)
I'll give it a shot.

I've heard that too...from people here who posted a playthrough video of single player on easy where they played worse than Polygon's Doom guy.
Supposedly a SP playthrough is 5 hours, but if you're only going to play this 4-player online co-op diablo-style game once in single player just don't bother buying it

After Transformers, I'm mixed-hype.
It played like a great Platinum game, but it lacked both the platinum-feel and felt short on Transformers lore.
I'm expecting that again but with co-op on Turtles.

There's definitely going to be skill involved on the higher difficulties, it's platinum.
AFAIK you don't need IRL friends to play the co-op, there should be a matchmaking system. It seems to be very similar to something like Diablo or Dragon's Crown where you'd play through the same stages on multiple difficulties and with different people trying to gather loot and level up to get strong enough to take on the next difficulty.
Idk with Platinum you can always expect the same game and a short playthrough. Just gonna be a beat-em-up which I'm fine with, but $40 is too high for it.

As long as it plays as well as Transformers did, I'm hype.
Yeah, the dearth of unique assets might be a mark against it, but the combat is wonderful -- like a step or two ahead of Bayo in some ways kind of wonderful -- and honestly if you expect a big number for singleplayer playtime, you're probably not very familiar with the genre anyway.
The turtles look like shit and they gave April the good old Gwen Tennyson treatment.
Gameplay looks good though will stay tuned.
Platinum games are fucking terrible. I might pick it up in a sale as a Turtles fan, but it's going to be shit like everything else they've ever made.
