I've started playing Osu! and I'm kind of addicted so can anyone recommend a similar game for my 3DS? I can imagine it playing well with the touchscreen. I've played Theatrhythm but wasn't a huge fan, although I'll pick up Curtain Call if there isn't anything better.

Yeah the original is Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and that's where the title comes from. Of course they don't have the customization of osu! but the gameplay is practically identical.
Taiko and osu!mania are also based on actual rhythm games but I think they're jap.

Elite Beat agents is trash and the circle hits are off time 90% out of time. Ouendan 1 and 2 work perfect.
