But we are in the golden age right now?
Did I time travel while I was sleeping?
15-18 years ago
Starcraft: Brood War, Fallout 2, Half-Life, Planescape Torment, Diablo II, Deus Ex, System Shock 2 were all released between 1998 and 2000, and that's just off the top of my head

You can still play those games, anon.
Normies will binge watch movies and series and they love on Netflix. It's okay to replay games you love.
>>338379130
>watching netflix is a normie thing
>playing games is not a normie thing
ok
Stop being a nostalgia fag. You're literally the worst type of person to play games.
20 Years ago the industry was already shit and appealed to the casuals.
Golden age was 30 years ago, everything after that is casual trash with no exception

>there are children who actually believe this.
Maybe in the golden age of graphics. Movies are the same. CGI and fancy colors are more important than depth or plot or setting or story or gameplay.

oh yeah and "dragon age inquisition is the best rpg ever made!!!"
top kek

Anyone who thinks that we currently have a healthy state for the games industry is a fucking retard. Golden age is long since past. I'm actually feel bad for you, the weak and ignorant are most likely to accept a false narrative.
The industry right now is the industry since ever. It's a fucking industry, it was always about money. It made bad games possible then and now and makes good games possible then and now.
>you grew up in the golden age of gaming
>>338378531
You missed Tribes.
>there are people in this thread who arent even 20 years old
>>338377993
I remember there was a screencap that said there was never a golden age. Video games were new and the guy was convinced that with all the hardware limitations, the developers just did whatever they could and hoped it turned out okay. His evidence of this was that all the gaming (i fucking hate that word) heros who created great games in the 90s tunred out to be major cucks in the present day. Like the guy making System Shock 3.
>>338383618
Are you suggesting that systems, trends and business priorities don't change over time?
>you are living through the platinum age of gaming
