Any other anons here going to get Odin Sphere for PS4? I've never played the original game, so I don't know what to expect other than it looks great.
>>
I can't decide between ps4 or vita, leaning towards ps4 just because action games are better with an actual controller.

This also comes with the original game in HD so you can try that if you wanted to see how the remake and the original differ.
>>
I'm going to get it on PS3 because I don't have a PS4 yet.

Seems like it's gonna be fun, I played a little of the PS2 version and that was quite nice.
>>
Based on the demo it's going to play a lot lookout Muramasa, just with more variety between characters. Can't wait.
>>

>I've never played the original game
If you had done your own research, you'd know better than to type this.
>>
I remember the original being repetitive and annoying. Playing through the same stages and bosses over and over.
I think they changed how some it works though.

Jesus, Anon. That shitty mobile auto-correct.
But yeah.
>tfw you will never use best trio ever again
It's amazing how they went from being the least fun to the most fun play-style. Not to say that they're the strongest or easiest to use, but being able to properly wreck shit feels orgasmic.
>>
>>338368359
>I think they changed how some it works though.
No, you think?
>>
>>338368552
Yeah I remember hearing something like that. Are you alright, buddy?
>>
I never finish the game back on PS2 era. The combat was too repetitive and I grew bored of it when I reached Velvet.
I'm willing to give it another chance now.
I'm getting the Vita version since I like to play games from my bed or my office.
>>
Going to get it for the Vita since Vanillaware games are perfect on portables. I would have never played Dragons Crown as much as I did if it wasnt always on hand like that. I wouldnt have 100%'d Muramasa four times in addition to the DLC if it wasnt portable.
>>338368605
They did indeed. They basically rebuilt the game so it works more similarly to Muramasa's gameplay system's now.

That first section with the crows was more infuriating than anything I can remember in recent memory. But yeah, once both they and you git gud it's ridiculous how fun they are to play as

That second ending was some depressing shit, though.
>>
>>338369338
But the first ending was one of the best endings ever. Fucking giving sass to the judge of hell that they arent being punished enough.
>>
>>338366825
Undecided yet. Played the original recently but got bored by the time the story of an edgy knight rolled. His playstyle just didn't appeal to me at all, so i dropped it, never finished the game, and as a result never played as Velvet. I enjoyed the story and the visuals, but the ombat is get spretty boring. I heard that they've revamped it in the remake and it is now more like muramasa rebirth. Muramasa rebirth never get boring to me and it's the only reason i'm considering picking up odin sphere. More complex levels are also a plus of course.
What would make his game an insta buy for me however is if they show the close up of all the food though. Vanillaware cooking simulator when?
>>
>>338368492
I almost fucking broke the vita when i was doing the 1hp run with those guys. The crow fight is a fucking nihtmare
>>
Looks way easier than the ps2 version.
>>
>>338369910
Maybe because there's no frame rate problem & more skills.
>>
Im probbly getting it on the vita when possible

I can't wait.
I never played the game on PS2, but i love Dragon's Crown. The characters look great.
But how does the characters work? Do you choose one character story to play at the time? Or is it like 1 level you play as this character and the next level you play as another character?
>>
>>338370786
The pain is real there anon...
>>
>>338366825
Original Odin Sphere had garbage gameplay. I was already done with the game reaching the fucking ice mountains in the very beginning. Freezing non-stop and having to mash to get rid of it was fucking frustrating.
>>
>>338371935

You choose one character's story to play at a time.
>>
>>338372286
Good that they completely remade it for the remake then.

Will vanillaware ever make a game that isn't a side scroller beat em up?

Grim Grimoire
>>
>>338366825
Most definitely senpai. I'll be picking it up there Friday after it's release because I loved the hell out of the ps2 version and I can't wait to see what they've changed.
June is gonna be a fun month, and I won't have any time to play it thanks to summer classes
>>
>>338372440
I hope not.
>>
>>338372512
Yeah, they should just stick with beat em up.
>>
>>338373121
Was Grim Grimoire not good?
Never touched it.
>>
>>338366825
Getting it for Vita.

I don't have a PS4 and don't have a PS3. Plus, I already have Muramasa and Dragon's Crown on Vita, so I might as well keep them all on the same system.

Yes, it is my favorite PS2 game, which is saying a lot
>>
>>338372440

Grim Grimoire was fucking beautiful. On PSP we got Grand Knights History with a million waifus. They have some games, just research.

Aibui Sakura 2 when

No fuck off. Other genrefags get all the nice things like nepneps so let us have Vanillaware.

Yes for example that you have terrible taste

I'm going to get it for PS3. There aren't any major differences between versions, right?
>>
>>338379293

PS3 version still runs at 1080p, it's gonna look gorgeous.

What's Trails of Cold Steel like?

I want the Storybook Edition for the artbook, but that shirt that comes with it seems cringy.

See I've never played any of these games, I don't know what to expect.

>>
>>338377676
I got the special edition with the hardcover. Still regret not buying the Dragon's Crown and original Odin Sphere art books when I was at mandarake, but they didn't have Muramasa's so it'd feel incomplete.
>>
>>338379981
Maybe not start with the 4th game in the series or was it the 7th?
>>
>>338380020
It's pretty cute I'd play it if it were a sidescroller.
>>
>>338380020
The only actually bad nep game was the first one on ps3
>>
>>338380163

So they all connect? OK, which one's first then?
>>
>>338380163
you can start with Cold Steel just fine, it's its own story
>>338379775
It's a text heavy Jrpg, there's no free map roaming like say in a dragon quest so you kinda feel traped sometimes, it also got a realy nice battle system and good character customisation as far as cold steel goes.
>>
>>338379775
RPG with good worldbuilding, characters and fun combat. Music is also really good.
You don't need to play other games to understand CS, though playing the other games help understand the whole world.
>>
Was going to buy Vita but need the hardcover art book
>>
>>338379205
Every preorder gets the artbook.
>>
CanĀ“t wait for it.
>fully localized in Europe
