I didn't even finish the story in GTA V I couldn't be bothered. Most of the jokes/parodies were a miss for me and the missions just sucked. I didn't like any of the characters and don't think swapping between the 3 really worked. It made me feel disconnected as the gamer, like repeatedly breaking the 4th wall.
As for the online and post-story stuff, couldn't give less of a shit. I'd rather play an mmo. The map is huge but RDR looks better. Rather have a smaller map that's more detailed/higher rez. No one ever goes to the top of the map, why even have it there?

The way people gush over RDR2 always puzzled me.
It looked like GTA in the old west, and surprise, that's exactly what it was. Story was good and it has the expected Rockstar polish, but it still suffers from that shitty mission structure.

I dunno why but I got really triggered by how many people I had to kill, especially at the middle part i believe where you swim on a boat into mexico.
You hear all these stories about legendary gumen who killed like six to fifteen people in their life and here i was, killing off hundreds like no biggie.
Maybe it was because that the game was so good and realistic that this thing stood out too much and I'm completely in the wrong but the feeling is still there.

The best thing I like about RDR is the very smart way they handled the satire. It wasn't so in your fucking face like GTAV. It was tasteful and not overdone.
