There wasn't a lot of confidence in it and Sega after the 32x and massive Saturn fuck up. Not to mention you could pirate the games by just burning them onto plain old CD-Rs. I think I only actually bought two games back in the day, Grandia 2 and Skies of Arcadia.

well that aside, the few games the dreamcast had were nearly all at least above average. I still think it's the better console and could have been great if PS2 didn't took the market with the dvd gimmick.
But 2 years after its release the PS2 had a huge library of great games and the dreamcast couldn't which support has already been stopped couldn't hope to compete anymore.

Eh I'm less fond of some of the big games in there than most people. But the point remains that these were the system sellers that people had been waiting a year for to justify their purchase.
