While it can be fun, its not good at anything it set out to be.
A game where you're suppose to build vehicles for challenges not letting you actually do that for most challenges is just ridiculous.
Ironically, the only place they got the actual concept done right was in the DLC. Since they finally split logs choice and player's creations into two separate takes on the same missions.
Secondly, when it comes to building, the game was incredibly limited. Very few pieces weren't just straight upgrades over previous tiers. You were limited by the rather small building size, and the few pieces that weren't upgrades were situationally useful at best.
The whole concept of building your own vehicle for challenges has been done far better in other games.
This isn't even touching upon the banjo IP either. Its a fun lil game to play, but its not nearly a good one.

I totally agree with this though for Nuts and Bolts. It wasn't any of the usual platforming people expected because of the prior two games and the constructed levels themselves kind of sucked ass, but it was really fun just messing around in the freeplay area making crazy vehicles.
