Anyone in the mood for a Mario Maker Thread? The one earlier today died really quickly.
You know the drill, shill and play.
>>338302610
People still play mario maker? Jesus christ.
I made my first short gimmick level today.
Could I get some feedback on it?

>>338302783
Yeah, why would you play fun games, or any games at all for that matter, when you could be shitposting instead? You tell them!
>>338302917
No, its just the game was a gimmick like nintendo and i thought everyone forgot about it, i certainly did. Havent touched it since about november.
>>338303035
ok then go to another thread
>>338303035
Yes, Anon, everything is a gimmick in Nintendo. Whatever you say.

I hate it whenever they remove anything even slightly kaizo. Does it still work in courses already uploaded?
Post terrible level ideas and I will attempt to make something good out of it. I'm all out of level ideas now.
>>338303625
I've pulled it off and seen other streamers do it earlier today, reddit has no idea wtf they're talking about.
>>338307030
Timed underwater autoscrolling escort mission
>>338307275
There are some things they disabled for new uploads that they still allow to work in old uploads. Is this one of them? This is the first I'm hearing about it.
>>338307030
Escort a homing bullet bill through a long level.
>>338307543
Ah, I guess I haven't tested it in a newer level. When the time comes I guess. 1.43 did the spring thing and they added the ability to look at all your Mystery Mushrooms from the menu.
>>338307832
You can test it in the editor. If it's disabled, any new course you work on won't let you do it.
>>338307628
This would be such a pain in the ass. They have a limited amount of time that they can change direction, so you'd have to time it to make their final trajectory line up perfectly with where you'll need them to be at the end. I'd love to see someone make that work.
>>338308445
Maybe if they force the player to move through a tiny maze? That actually sounds like an interesting idea. They can set a reset door at the end too in case they mess up so they can try again.
Why is hardly anyone posting any levels?
>>338309695
I don't know, I just haven't been in the mood lately

These are both really good, although the older the one can get a little bit frustrating.
>>338312986
I like the basic idea behind the level but you should avoid getting people stuck, like when you jump on the p-block and run right, instead of taking it back to the other door. Stuff like that is frustrating.
>>338317413
Yeah, when I first posted it months back everyone had similar feedback. I also really wanted to give the whole repeating run to progress another go.
Guess I'll post another to keep the thread alive

I bookmarked a couple of those. I'll give them a try tomorrow or on Sunday.
>>338320227
Thanks. Would you change anything, or make it more obvious what people are supposed to do? The one random guy that's played the level so far obviously just tried to jump towards the goal.
>>338320473
I'd probably make it so the part where the mole swaps with you (so you're above and its below) it isn't so easy to jump on him as you're going across the pit
My latest

Puzzle: P Switch-Up
https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/B068-0000-0210-6871
>>338320717
I'll look into it. I thought the level needed at least one kind of tricky part as my levels kind of tend to turn out rather easy in comparsion to many other levels I see on here. I also thought people would notice that they can juggle the mole to the upper platform, then jump over him, while close to the edge (which makes the mole fall down on the lower platform.)
>>338302867
There was small issue with the mole killing himself before pressing the P-Switch, but it was manageable
>>338312251
I think I've played Bomb Mountain before but it doesn't show that I've stared it
Is this a remake?

>>338321524
>There was small issue with the mole killing himself before pressing the P-Switch, but it was manageable
Thanks for the feedback. Where did he kill himself, right on the spikes? Was this a bug or did I fuck something up?
>>338321756
Maybe it has to do with the whole glitch thing. Apparently Nintendo will delete every course if it abuses glitches.
>>338302783
A GAME WITH REPLAY VALUE! AHAHAHAHAHAH OO BOY WHAT A LAUGH
>>338321840
It was nothing too major but I just overshot the mole over the gap on all times.
Needing to make him turn around after dropping from the top part without him falling in the pit or getting stomped on was tricky.
People's shitty levels are killing my interest in the game. That and how little people play mine which I spend hours on.
Wall Jumping level: 8EBE-0000-0242-6D73
Super Mario World level: CC0A-0000-023C-D42E
I dumbed down a lot of my levels because of the low completion percentages. Turns out, that's the case for everyone's levels it looks like. Either there are a bunch of children only playing this game or a bunch of bads.
>>338322241
But my course never abused glitches. It was just a straight forward jumping/wall jumping course with ice and spikes
Haven't seen one of these threads in a bit but I haven't been making any myself lately. I can't play until tomorrow, but I'll bookmark a few levels to play when I can.

Interested in feedback on this level. I'm not sure how actual players deal with it because it's a little odd and it's thrown the two friends I've had give it a try for a loop.
Also wondering if the standard end boss is too hard? There's a secret end area as well, not sure on that one either. Really would like feedback.
>>338312251
Bomb mountain was really good. Almost killed myself on the jump after the boss.
>>338322641
I'd wager that a good 85% of the Mario Maker fanbase is children, so if you want to get stars from randoms you basically have to make baby-tier courses. Getting stars from randoms is already rare enough too
Reaching more than two medals without selling yourself out seems impossible

>Nightmare Castle
This is a huge course where I use literally every space of both areas to make challenges. It's a difficult course, but it's not unfairly difficult, you won't be stuck at some point because you don't know how to do some part. There are also some secrets to help you get some power-ups to proceed easier, but it's completely optional. I hope you like it.
