Do any of you guys feel nostalgic enough towards Phantasy Star Online enough to come play? We started a little group that's reached about 55 people on the Ephinea server. Ephinea is a great experience, they let you change your section ID before level 20, view and reset your material usage, and they even introduced PSO2 style drops where everyone gets drops but not every monster drops stuff. It's been pretty cool so far. I recommend at least checking it out over at http://ephinea.pioneer2.net/

I'm surprised at the perseverance some fans have at keeping a game alive. The server website and changes to the game looks like it required quite the effort, and all just to please a minor player base.
I'm even surprised schtserv is still updating regularly after losing the majority of its players.

I think PSO is an experience that can trascend generations, really. It's an enjoyable, grindy experience - everyone gets excited at seeing that red box. It's just a fun game.
