ITT: Games that broke /v/

>>338276276
I'd say Doom fixed /v/ mainly because there was a noticeable amount of less shit posting since release

FTFY
>>
>>338276456

That's just momentary reprieve. Once the shame of being this incredibly wrong runs off, the shitposters will return

Either way, /v/'s credibility is in the gutter right now
>>
>>338276456
this is deus ex all over again
>>
>>338276658
I wasn't aware /v/ had credibility to begin with.
>>
>>338277109

This might be a greater upset, because the HR leak at least gave people early hope. Doom took until launch and had a tortuous development cycle to begin with

>>338277234

If it was zero before it's now in the negatives
>>
Bloodborne of course
>>
>>338277351
It took until Nvidia Vulcan demo where they actually showed pc footage. People noticed it might not be that shit at all.

Shit with all the posting I was pretty much not going to get the game but still got it as a last horray game with my friend before I move away, got it and was really fun but he never came over to play it, instead cursed me out for going to leave him all alone in the town...that he said while hanging with another friend that says the same thing.

I literally called that it would happen like this. Probably some more examples I'm forgetting but who cares: /v/ was wrong.

This game taught me who not to listen too. Undertale fuckers I foind to be the same people that spam Dark Souls/Fagsion souls threads and overwatch and anime waifu shit.

So... /v/?
>>
>>338279697

But /v/ was right about that one being shit
>>
Fallout 4
>>
>>338279697
Oh god shut up, other than bounty hunter and sith sorcer, every other story and stuff was shit.
>>
>>338279747
>>338279820
OP said broke /v/.
Not games where /v/ was wrong.
>>
>>338279747
Not the point. It turned /v/ into an even shitter place which no one thought was possible at the time.
>>
>>338277351
The shift for HR was way greater. There was constant shit posting about that game from all the trailers, marketing, etc. Then everyone seem to suddenly flip once that leak came out.

With Doom hardly anyone even cared enough to even say the game will be shit.

HR went from very negative expectations to positive

Doom went from largely not really caring, or neutral expectations to positive.

It did turn /v/ into 'everything is a blunder I hope it fails' which made /v/ shitter overall.
I assume that's what anon is trying to say.
>>
>>338280270
What gets me is most of the threads are copy paste from other games shitted on, they just replace the name of the game but the test is the same, even including "hahahaha" in it. I think it is a small group to 1 autist every time.
>>
Can I find it on TPB already? I'm not paying 60 dollarydoos for a single player I won't even finish.
>>
>>
>>338280906
why even play it if you already think you won't finish it?

but yeah it is on torrents, just gotta wait for the crack.
>>
Rule of thumb regarding new releases on /v/:

Half of /v/ says it's shit=It's good.
Most of /v/ says it's shit=It's ok.
Everyone says it's shit=It's genuinely shit.

This more or less weeds out the hyperbole, contrarians and jadedfags.

Yep. There were a few semi shitty games that followed, like Mass Effect 3, which kept the schadenfreude rolling. Now there's posters who love nothing more to campaign against games they don't even care about. They just want to bask in the disappointment of fans of the series. And when fans aren't disappointed they try and explain why they should be disappointed. It was fun watching posters try and explain why the people who enjoyed it were wrong. Looks like they've given up now.
>>
>>338280906
forget it, it's denuvo and there will probably never be a crack. the old scene is dead as they all got v& or retired and chinks are useless.
>>
>>338281286
To see if it's good as everyone says it is. Gameplay looks fun, but I'll prolly lose interest after shooting same enemies in the same enviroment for 5 hours.

it was great

>>
>>338281321
then it depends at which hour you are checking threads

>post it
>dont bother anymore
then you see 30 threads of the same shit (doom/bf1/overwatch and notice its all shills and learn to hide and ignore everything

see you in 3 weeks where nobody will be talking about this game outside of blatant shitposting.
just like Undertale, Warlords of Draenor and Starbound
>>
>>338284440
This is not a normal run of the mill game though, with little to no history to it. This game, comes along with it (if all goes well) the largest and oldest modding community in the business. With snapmap, and the ability to import your own textures, etc, I imagine great things will happen for years to come.

Shit, it was just a few years ago when brutal doom came out, and not to mention Russian Overkill, which IMO is the best gun mod in existence. Both of these made a game engine that is over 20 years old still shine today. These same people are loving this game, and will only improve it with their skills.
>>
>>338280082
2011 was a great year just for that one upset.
>>
>>338285085
Snapmap is such a basic and limited editor, nothing special will come out of it.

Christ, I wonder how long it's been since they had a conversation in there that hadn't been repeated at least a hundred times.
>>
>>338285396
Also for note, they go through an average of nearly 2 threads daily, and it's been like this nonstop since I think January 2012.
>>
>>338285085
>Denuvo so no mods and no crack (as of now)
>Snapmap is too limited
>DLC support is most certainly only going to be for the multiplayer

I doubt it'll have any longevity, but who knows. People might actually do a reverse engineering job if the interest is high enough and scene finally gets off its ass, though I personally don't think so.

>>
>>338276551
Fucking hilarious how Depression Quest threads were generally positive and full of ">tfw" until goobergate.

It exposed /v/ for what it really is--children who can't get over their individual biases and bullshit ideologies.

How impressionable are you, child?

mark my words, the instant each episode comes out /v/ will be nothing but either love or hate for this in 90% of threads made while the other 10% are just general shitposting for an entire month each release
>>
>>338277351
>>338277906
The period in between the daily "JUST" shitposting and the now generally positive response was the best part, because the threads were such massive shitstorms of people not being able to understand what had happened. That sort of 180 shift in popular opinion is never easy, but this was like watching an oil tanker trying to pull a bootlegger turn in a swimming pool.

All 4 of these happening within only 2 months of each other definitely has /v/ collapsing in on itself.
>>
>>338287625
No. As someone with clinical anhedonia, /v/ had WAY more vitriol for this game than praise. Most threads were complaining about the buttfuck retarded "choices" in the VN. The game was bad and /v/ hating it caused a divide, but if you're retarded and thought all of /v/ liked it I suppose you'd probably miss that.
>>
>>338276456
too busy playing the game to shitpost
