I thought video games ruined my life when I was 14, then I grew up and realized I would be a fucking loser with or without video games.
Just now at 21.
4chan ruined my life. I would be happy if I played video games for all the hours I browsed this place.

It was a combo of internet and vidya that did it.
Around 18.
It all started going downhill when I started playing Runescape at age 15. I later switched to World of Warcraft at 17 or so. I went from a straight A student to not caring at all, barely getting out of high school. I wish I had my time back.

I'm 33 and everyone I know has some kind of debilitating addiction. They all tell me stories about how expensive and troublesome it is. I just play video games. Interferes with my life very little.
Though when I did play MMOs I would sacrifice social events for game time. Miss a friend's birthday because it's raid night. A friend of mine once got me to work his St. Patrick's day night shift for a belt in Everquest which added weapon haste.
