I don't think just-starting out VAs is a bad thing. New talent is welcome compared to the same goddamn voice actor every other game. This is true. Obviously the games with average-mediocre voice acting are remembered the most, but then the are those like the Souls games and LoK that nail it. Really just a matter of who's in charge.
Generally speaking though, Nintendo does not have a good track record of voice acting. Probably the best dub they've done was Xenoblade Chronicles, and that was done by NoE.
And while you can say it's the fault of the voice direction in some cases, in others it's still due to the VA. For instance Effie's VA is actually not that bad but was probably deliberately told to sound like that, while with others like Felicia and Camilla they are not very good VAs. The latter is especially jarring given she was given probably the highest profile VA of any female in the JP version.

I'm not American itself, but I watch series like Adventure Time because the VA there are great.
But playing videogames with american dubs is embarrassing.
I played birthright/conquest original and revalations dubbed and the translation is pretty messy. A lot of them sound nothing like the japanese voices (Subaki, Elfie, Felicia has their entire manner of speaking changed and you couldn't mistake Forest for a girl if you tried since his voice is deeper than the Marinas). But you kinda get used to them and there are some that are just as good or even better than the nip versions. I really like Sakura and Arthur's voices.
Some are also really bad though, just in general quality. Hana's voice actor/director clearly didn't even try.
