Civ 4 was really flawed at release as well and started turning more people with Beyond the Sword. Even then the game is still flawed in many ways to Civ "snobs" which is why there are so many big mods for 4 that re balance a ton of things. This meme that the Civ fanbase is singularly divided on one game is shit. CiV's flaws at launch were more apparent than 4's at launch and 6 will likely be with the changes currently presented what Civ 4 is compared to 3, but then we'll get a whole new group of CiV "snobs" who can't admit their game can be improved upon and the whole cycle will start over again, but at least by then I can finally rest in peace and not get shit on for preferring 4 to V.

That was actually a really fun Civ to play. Unique unit was w/e and the unique ability was nice (until you got Research Labs that give every unit +1 movement at which point it becomes kind of broken) but spamming Labs everywhere so you could essentially have Farms/Mines that also gave a bit of Science was a neat idea.
