Is EVERY fucking science fiction MMO doomed to fail?
Yes.
>science fiction
literally a meme
I can't remember why I stopped playing this game after it went F2P, I think it was fun
Not quite.
Remove Chua and it becomes a little better

When it looks fucking gay like that then yeah
>>338191924
>spreadsheet simulator
We're talking about real games here
Don't fucking remind me this shit.
>muh wow vanilla style
>muh 40 man raid
>muh hardcore gamer
What the fuck they were thinking?
>>338191286
i think anarchy online is still chugging along
>tfw SWG is dead and TOR is dogshit and on life support
I should kill myself
There was this really good Star Wars MMO a while back based on The Old Republic games.
It's not that popular though I doubt /v/ has heard of it.
>>338192831
Literally never existed.
>>338192695
I'm with you.
WoW is totally dead, but no one wants to do anything about it. Not even Blizzard is interested in making a new MMO
I would pay 20 bucks a month for a new MMORPG that actually kept me involved outside of Facebook game daily quests, but it's so fucked
Generally you need the power of an IP of note to keep trucking in the MMO world.
>warcraft
Warcraft was already big, and it turned itself into something more.
>SWTOR
Star Wars. Even the world's worst start didn't kill it.
>STO
Star Trek. Even the world's worst expansion didn't kill it. Fuck Delta Rising.
>>338191286
>be NCSoft
>push the devs to release a game that needed at least 1-2 more years to be completed
>game releases with a billion issues
>dies in mere months
Devs need to stop making MMOs, just let the genre rest for a few years. Almost all of them are horrible failures and it's sad to see such potential never being fulfilled.

People screamed they wanted Vanilla WoW, they delivered.
People didn't want Vanilla WoW.
>>338193065
It was in development forever.
>>338191286
>A friend of mine took his own life because of chronic pain.
>His last cover photo on facebook is a screenshot from Wildstar.
>>338193063
FF11/14 as well are very successful.
>>338195061
His after life is most likely a full-dive VR version of what WildStar could have been.
Pretty sweet, honestly.
>>338192328
but you posted wildstar
The Burning Crusade was science fiction and the height of the MMO genre.
>>338192621
>>338193574
we wanted vanilla wow. we got a piece of shit
>>338196334
Raiding was great on Wildstar.
Leveling was awful..
Sorta sounds familiar huh?
>>338191286
i hear anarchy online still has players and is still making expansions op
>>338196169
>implying he's OP.
I'm OP, but I still don't like EvE.
>Tabula Rasa
>>338191286
Sci-fi is not as exciting as medieval fantasy. I mean, yes lazer guns are cool, but wouldn't it be cooler to shoot lazers from your hands?
that
and no one has made a good sci-fi mmo, wildstar was kinda close but not quite enough.
