It's really worth getting into I got bored eventually and unsubbed for a month but when I came back I started up my own FC and i'm leveling my crafter's now.
We just had this thread yesterday.
LotRO is really good for just exploring the world and finding content in unlikely places. Also one of the few MMOs where people are actually social and don't just hide in a hub town 24/7.

I enjoyed XIV, but dropped it when I got my MCH to max level and realized I just don't have the time for DPS queues or to "try out" for slots in a static just do end-game content. At this point I'm not even sure if I'd want to come back and try tanking, as I barely remember most of the various dungeon and boss mechanics. I'd end up being a shit tank or having to sit through a couple hours of dungeon guide videos.

MapleRoyals scratches that 2007 maplestory itch for me, theres usually around 800-1000 people connected (I doubt even the official maplestory servers have that many people nowdays), however I would only recommend it if you were hopelessly addicted to this game back in the day like I was.
