Yes in the Last Mission Yuna tells Rikku shes been cooking and walking on the beach with him every night. He's also probably training her Blitzball. Rikku gets a lil upset shes doesnt seek adventure, but she just wants to be with Tidus all the time.

I don't see how the two are related in any way, FF10 came out 14? years ago and the FF7 remake started last yearish. If anything they would have pushed FF12 to be an Ivalice spinoff and kept going with X-3 years ago.
It would be nice if it happened now and filled the gap between 15 and 7-R but they'd probably ruin the combat system and sphere grid with modern "upgrades".

There could easily be new areas to explore, I doubt we saw all of spira the first time. The order of visiting the areas can be changed. And the story could get more developed and build up the world, it could also be a more character driven story rather than just "save the world"
