Which is a shame because something like DDS could never happen today due to every game having to be accessible to someone who's just jumping into the franchise for the first time. DDS2 was a direct goddamn sequel and you had to play the original first to get it.

I dunno if "normal's" the right word considering Space Marine has a high tech suit that basically lets him fight on par with a demon. Most Megaten protagonists get something or other that allows them to fight comparably with demons, like the ability to use demon magic or some special gear.Reminder that SMT1's protagonist died alone and forgotten in a shitty cave.

I really want Persona 5 to trigger a similar wave of SMT games like SMT3 did, if only because both of those games are responsible for a lot of demon models being created in engine, making it easy to make more installments. Probably just wishful thinking though.
