If you look at tournament numbers, it always does leagues better than any other anime fighter assuming they're running more than just Xrd.
AFGC would rather stick to one game than juggle multiple, generally speaking. People would make fun of the "Arcsys cycle" which would consist of: X game comes out > people check it out > Y game comes out and X game has an update that's arcade only > people drop X game and move onto Y > so on and so forth. Though I think at this point people just stick to GG now; which I guess isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It's not really GG's fault at the end of the day, more-so the community. Games like Nitro+ and Koihime are actually really fun but nobody wants to give them a chance. UNIEL is dead on the East Coast, life support on the West, people hardly play BB because of CF.

It is so hard to generate numbers for anime games at all at tournies. GG has been around for awhile and people tend to go to it since of the anime games it has the biggest player base, which isn't that big at all compared to the other games. Hard to keep any community alive when getting over 50 players is a huge turnout for anime.
