The footrests I have near my couch are hollow. One has all the controllers I'm not using, one has computer speakers/microphones I'm not using, and the last one is full of slightly expired chips from my buddy Marco down the street. He gets so many little potato chips and sandwiches that he can't eat them all himself.

Seriously asking, what difference you think it makes how you store them?
The only thing that matters is they dont collect dust, so just put them in a random plastic box(avoid cardboard boxes as they tend to deteriorate and attract bugs) and put the box in a drawer/closet.
If you want to go even more safer, put each in a ziplock bag before putting them in the box.

But honestly, these last 2 things are completely useless and unneded for this purpose, just a plastic box and nothing else is more than enough.
