These are really poorly designed. They tried to make it so that each shape and color corresponds to a rating but the shape is the last thing you notice. The color is unnecessary because you can read it and if they're going to use shapes then make the whole sticker that shape or nothing at all. It's too much information for no reason.

The shapes are noticeable to some - the old scheme was just the shapes - They're pretty much only there even because older Australians will recognise them.
OFLC (or whatever they're called now) wants new generations to associate ratings with the colours which is why it's deliberately designed so that people not used to the shapes won't really 'see' them so much.

G - fucking everyone 'general exhibition'
PG - Anything slightly edgier than G, most kids shit is PG even a lot of non kids shit ends up as PG. 'parental guidance'
M - not recommended for people under 15 - basically don't show it 5 year olds and you're all good. 'Mature'
MA15+ - Anyone under 15years is not permitted to see/buy/rent/whatever without an 18+ year old present, really not for kids at all.

Only print media is exempt from rating, but they must still be approved for sale.
