Aside from that, I agree with you. Too much time is spent on graphics and the mechanics behind them. You honestly can't spend too much time on the story because the quality is mostly subjective, you can only look into structure, continuity and character depth while the actual content of the story can only be judged on an individual level. The music is much the same. Game mechanics are the ignored aspect here, for some reason the discussion of what is actually happening while playing or the numbers that determine outcomes is widely seen as unsavory.
Reviews are all talk about the same minutia of modern graphics and an attempt to project a subjective view of the story content onto other people.
