Forbidden Memories is the hardest, but it's artificial difficulty.
It's like the early anime, the actual rules of the game don't exist.
No ability monsters and you can play any monster without needing to tribute. So you just need to have the monsters with the best stats to win.
Problem is, towards the end of the game, you get in a rut where it's virtually impossible to get better cards, and the enemies just become flat out more powerful than you because your shit monsters can't beat theirs, and they have all the best spells too.

The newer ones actually do keep track of the order of the cards in your deck. Not sure if the old-ass ps1 yugioh games do, but the psp ones definitely do.

Shuffled decks aren't actually random, random itself isn't even random and can be somewhat predicted.
A simple way to think of it is a coin toss. there's two groups of people, one group is asked to flip a coin 300 times and write down the outcome, the second group is asked to just write heads or tails in a "random" order. A person coming into the room can tell which is the true coin toss as the layout will be somewhat predictable (such as getting 6 tails in a row which actually has a very high chance of happening) while the group who wrote "random" outcomes wouldn't put 6 tails in a row because it wouldn't appear random, but it actually is.

The game was designed to be able to get Cards from online codes and Japanese vendors, but this was no implimented at all. So getting money in game to get stars to buy new cards is fucking impossible.
And seeing how enemies ramp up like nothing you get fucked like nothing and have to waste 3-5 turns with luck just to get a thunder-dragon fused, meanwhile your enemies opening card is Meteor Black Dragon with hella trap and magic cards.

Why wouldn't they, it's not hard. The duel starts and the game randomizes each deck, then keeps track of the randomized order. if a card effect is activated that makes you shuffle the deck a new randomized order is used. Why wouldn't they program it that way?

I got so far too. I got all the way to the final fight with Pegasus and Reshef. I even beat Pegasus. But the final fight with Reshef was just too much fucking bullshit for even my child self to deal with.
