Have you preordered my game yet?
>>
no, being a completionist I'm afraid I can't start this one

>>
I'm gonna. Looks pretty chill. I do love the constant anger towards this game.

>omg you can't do XYZ

no shit they never said you could.

It's a result of people seeing the reveal and assuming what kind of game it was rather than listening to the devs that exploration was the focus.

yes i did sean. uunder the pretense you update the game like they do with terarria. which they said theyd do. like add Proper multiplayer and vehicles etc

Which is funny because Spore didn't even use procedural generation really (you got to design the creatures if you weren't lazy) which is the only real complaint you could have about the game.

We've yet to see if the system they made truly creates unique enough planets or just recolors of the same planet NOW WITH ACID RAIN.

What No Man's Sky is missing is progession. What can you build? Are you going to just travel in your fucking tiny spaceship for the entire game? I get it is a sandbox, but why not create warpdrives, citadels, outposts in space, colonies, massive starships for additional crew (ai or real people), massive fleets, wage community-controlled wars, etc... THAT is a proper sandbox experience.

Without THAT, this sandbox game is nothing more than a glorified space minecraft... alone.

You mean where the devs talk about how they have made a periodic table and it will have a crafting system? Or how they constantly talked about the unlikelihood of meeting other players because the universe was so vast?

Go back and actually listen to what the devs have said; they have spouted Molyneux levels of bullshit.

contemplated getting it for pc but realize pc plebs will just speedhack to center of galaxy and spoil everything within first 15 minutes of the game, also they will run around naming entire sections of the galaxy to nigger and dickbutt and whatever else

also i've been doing complete media blackout, the only thing i know about the game is that its been in marketing for 3+ fucking years, and watched the initial e3 announcement

You know something, I think this game would be a bit better if they had abandoned ruins and aggressive monsters you could find underground? Or even come across civilizations that aren't as advance as you; something similar to how we come across different Civilizations and events sin Sterella.

Just adding events and things of that sort into No Man's Sky would bring a lot of depth to it. Right now all it is is a giant fucking puddle the size of Manhattan Park but with no fucking depth.

Because unlocking the periodic table doesn't sound fucking fun at all. All this is, is a fucking boring Pokemon Snap as it stands.

I don't get why people claim that the devs are morons and that they should've made a generic space MMO instead.

I mean the game is already a success and regardless on how well it holds, it probably already sold a lot in pre-order and it was on a few famous TV shows, so it'll probably be a financial success instead of the boring subpar space game that it would've been competing against others games with more manpower behind them.

>rather than listening to the devs that exploration was the focus.
But there are not that many ways to reward exploration, and procedural content is an awful one. Giving more content to the player, more varied environment, more monsters, unlocking new features, is how you reward a player.
Finding upgrade material having an impact only on numbers, and discovering a blue raptor with small claws instead of a red raptor with bigger claws, is pretty boring and far from interesting. On the long run the planet procedural creation is really boring. You'll explore 3-4 planet before it becomes stale.

The amount of disappointment will be unmatched. People thinking they're not just buying Minecraft with less crafting options, where instead of a server browser you can fly in space (nothing) and fine a different seed...I mean planet.

Teenagers weren't around for Molyneux, in which someone that's head of development hypes their own shit up beyond belief and it ends up being fine.

Adults are too autistic to realize that you can't capture what a game made you felt when you were a teenager. Exploration in games has been a perk for so long, yet these people think a Minecraft clone is going to do something special.

How does that apply to NMS anyway.

I mean I've saw a video of a dev saying that you'll get bored playing the game sometimes, I don't see how that qualify as "hyping beyond belief".

This game so so fucking sketchy you have to really wonder if there will be anything to do in the game.

One thing he said about it was the fact that they were going to keep adding things to the game after it's released.

They could end up making tons of money off this game and he'd get lazy and say fuck it and then there'd be fucking nothing to do in a $60 game.

This is just another orchestrated event in a series to capture the attention of the unwashed masses.

Upon release it will be known as the "AAA game made by a ragtag group of 4 indie boys creating the game of their dreams against all odds". Actual gameplay, none.

no mans sky is a fake indie game created by the corrupt indie machine. why else would a "4 man indie" team somehow get a spot on the biggest video game advertisement to debut it. It's just targeting "the indie demographic" throwing in all the stupid shit they see people loving in indie games such as "procedural things", "space ships", and "mountains you can climb". A ingeniously crafted piece of shit that will have no depth but a pretty artstyle to distract you from the lack of good gameplay. The goal obviously being big $$$ indie bucks but to also dilute the indie game scene and make us gradually accustomed to lower quality games much like what happened on consoles. Once their plan succeeds the corrupt indie machine will be able to pump out low quality shit and it will be perfectly acceptable due to their pioneer games like this and gone home.

The final event in the games timeline will be something along the lines of "the internet trolls" discovering that one of the people involved in the game is female and harassed her. The release of the game, her triumph over misogyny.

It's all orchestrated and you are a fool for buying into this hype.

Do not buy this game, if you do you are harming gaming and falling in the palms of the corrupt indie machine.

the swamp would be the biome retard. Volcanoes could be anywhere since the mountains and other parts are procedural. It wouldn't have to be on a hot planet, much like there can be volcanoes in multiple biomes on earth

There are 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 different minecraft seeds

Do you understand now, how meaningless this assertion is? It doesn't mean anything. The variety of the worlds is what's important want we won't know how varied they are until the game is released. Given the team of 5 people making this game, I would doubt there are much more than a handful of biomes.
