Jesus. I'm a Marth main and I can't honestly think of any real threat Bowser poses. Outspacing him is pretty much impossible. You'll have to find a way to get under him, I guess.
Falcon should be a bit easier, if you can avoid getting baited by his dash dancing and call out his nair approaches with either upB OoS, or maybe ftilt or utilt? I am not familiar with Bowser at all and don't know anything that's safe other than Koopa Fortress.

As long as the Marth does well-timed shorthop double fairs, I don't think Bowser really has a chance to approach, but maybe if you can stay just outside its reach, you can get an Fortress OoS and interrupt an approach. It'd require pretty good timing and player knowledge though.

If its of any consolation I smashed a Fox in training who has his wave dashing down and basics so, that's something. I've watched and he's amazing! I even read his very, very old Melee guide. Its great stuff but imitation (in my case poorly) and my lack of wavedashing execution can only take me so far as of now. Also separating Nana with walling fairs is not easy, relies on the climber fucking up his shield since Nana's shield comes out after Popos.

It's the same concept that makes Peach so hard, to lesser degree. He throws out big strong hitboxes with a lot of hitstun that makes it hard to punish. Eventually a shield poke happens with nana/popo and it's all down hill from there.

The only reason Melee is where it is at is because of how broken and easily exploitable the game is that gives the game an unintentionally infinite skill ceiling. Take that all away and you get a game that has slightly more depth than Brawl or Sm4sh. It was never meant for competitive play, it's a game you play in parties or friends just for fun. The later installments only justify my claim, since they've practically took away all the depth in Melee.

Some other things along these lines: I think Yoshi does well against Marth, zelda still loses to ICs but not terribly (you could consider transforming sometimes for zelda+sheik), young link doesn't lose to floaty high tiers too badly (though he still loses), Link does OK vs samus
Overall, low tiers really suck against everything. There aren't any interesting counterpicks aside from ones which rely on matchup inexperience.

His chaingrab is worse than Marth's due to a stronger throw with different trajectory. His juggle abilities are much worse than Marth's because Marth has shit like utilt, uair, etc while all of Roy's moves have no range if you want them to do anything. Dtilt->noodle sword->fsmash isn't so reliable when your opponent knows how to smash DI. Roy's fsmash is pretty strong at low% but it isn't that easy to KO; the knockback growth is below average. Roy can't edgeguard for shit (counter/fsmash/flare blade are cool, but worthless against sweetspots) unlike Marth who is amazing at it. Roy's effective range sucks. Roy's dash attack is a joke. Roy gets slaughtered by crouch cancelling. And there's a lot more. He loses handily to spacies even on FD and gets absolutely destroyed in general (and he loses to Peach and Samus and ICs and puff just as badly). I really wish he wasn't so bad, but he is. If you have any secret Roy techniques, please do share.
Do you know anything about DK? I vaguely remember hearing he has a couple decent matchups on certain stages.
