It's Mass Effect. Literally nothing about the game is right. Instead of an RPG or RPG elements it's literally an TPS with cooldowns. Shep has some of the worst voice acting and as your player character shouldn't have a voice. The writing is fucking abysmal and the planets were shallow and lack detail. Genuinely one of the worst games I ever tried last gen.

Mass Effect and the Elder Scrolls series are definitely up there. Yes, that includes Morrowind and Daggerfall. Only worthwhile thing to come out of that series is Nehrim, which probably none of you has played, and hopefully the upcoming Enderal from the same guys:

Oh, well I have no idea. I think the game may let you go through a checklist of decisions through the past games and choose what you want, but I'm not totally sure. A lot of the last games decisions don't have huge effects though, so it probably wouldn't greatly hinder you anyways.

You can choose to simulate a Witcher 2 save when you start a new game, which means after the prologue you'll get some questions to set what decisions you made.
There's 5 questions and only one determines whether or not you get a cool (but non-essential) cameo. It was never marketed as a game where your imported choices have a big impact and they don't. You won't really miss anything aside from that one cameo, which you probably won't even care about since you said you're not getting on with W2.
Any RPG series you consider good.
