Wiring update is good but not really what the game needs. Right now it needs some kind of endgame that keeps you working, like a Cthonian NPC that spawns after you kill the Moon Lord who tasks you with gathering extremely specific things or killing particular monsters in exchange for trophies or free prefix rerolls.
How the fuck did Starbound steal all this games attention? This game had a nice theme, challenging, actually gets patches which are more like expansions.

im not much of designer but im assuming the conveyer belts will help out immensely in farming enemys. or getting to one end of a map to the other(i know there's teleporters already)
