It's not just about 144hz for me, I find 27'' to be overwhelming for CS:GO, not mentioning my BenQ is slow as fuck. Comfy Fallout ventures are godlike on 1440p though.

It depends a lot on the type of desk, but with my distance from the screen already with a 23.5" I miss a lot of stuff that goes on in the corners. If I had a 27" in most games I'd effectively be tunnel-visioned.
You can always get a desk with more depth, of course, and negate that problem.
