I like to read a lot of books too, but with most of the stuff in video games I can't find myself giving a shit. I think it's because it's all so poorly written. PoE was like reading a bad self published novel half the time, and other games praised for it really fall short when compared to even a half decent book.Or if I'm honest a less than half decent book.

Really depends if it's really worth reading. You can play Prime and not read a single text and be 100% fine. It's all flavor text for the most part.
The best part is really learning the Space Pirate slowly learning about you on the planet. Going from them going about their daily business to going paranoid to flat out freaking the fuck out.

Prime is really the only game really worth playing. 2 has too much backtracking (and that's saying something for a Metroid game) and the Dark World only really becomes fun around 2/3 of the game when you can go in it without taking damage. And 3 while fun isn't that great. Instead of one big area to explore it's broken up into smaller areas on different planets where you fly to. So the feeling of exploring is kind of gone in that one.
eShop would be the best if you have a Wii U. Since the Wiimote aiming is really fucking good and the best way to play it.

I don't understand this meme. 2 had arguably less backtracking than the first game. Once you've done an area the only time you need to go back to it is for the 30 minute fetch quest at the end of the game, as opposed to in Prime 1 where you had to repeatedly go to every area.
And the dark world was at its most fun when it was genuinely dangerous and threatening.
