Gameplay wise its my favorite, but I don't know about revisiting it. If its a HD remaster + all new content, then I'm aboard. Its basically the Age of Empires 2 of the series.
I don't know how can people praise Tenkaichi so much. Graphics were mediocre, gameplay was meh, there were a billion characters sure, but 90% of them all played the same, they didn't even try to hide that, they even all have the same animations.

I played both the Budokai series and the Tenkaichi series.
Tenkaichi blows it out of the water. Haven't played any of the RB games though but the battle system in the Tenkaichi games is not only fun and intense, it's also incredibly complex.
I never understood the "all characters played the same" when they literally had different skillsets and moves, different punching speeds, beam attack properties, etc.
The only similarities really were that some of the commands for special attacks were similar, and so were some of the combos but even then things like hitboxes were different and the damage of those special attacks.

Gameplay wise is good it has some depth and gameplay variety(like throwing people into walls and kicking their butt, grabbing people from the floor and throwing them, deflect kamehamehas or other shit like that), but Tenkaichi 3 is just more fun. And RB1 had story mode, RB2 had 2 weird modes where you fight over and over with no story or what-ifs. The roster is much weaker than Tenkaichi 3 in both games, despite the what-ifs SSJ3 Broly and Vegeta, or new characters like those 2 androids or the Hatckyaskahablayadada(the tuffle/tsufuru red guy from the movie)

Actually Budokai 3 was the one that had more content. Lv up system, getting some characters needs to get certain events, the world map with special events that you need to do at a certain order, the what-ifs, yamcha's and uub story mode, Bulma's shop(or whatever shop it was in that game), Dragon Arena, the Z1-3 difficulty modes, password system. The only things that sucked in this game were the rock paper scissors bullshit and how to equip items while wasting slots because transformations, but nothing like using Majin Vegeta or Meta Cooler for the laughs.
BT3 has much more characters, but they are easy to get as are the what-if sagas. You have 2 extra modes from BT1 and 2, but you need both games and you need to change cds every damn time you turn on/off the ps2 when it should be unlocked forever once you did it once
