I rock a Q9450, you're in much better standing than I am.
8GB of RAM, better cooling, and a new GPU and you're great. Shit I'd love to have a 2500k.
>>337893998
yea was gonna say
buy some thermal paste you mad man
and dust your case that shit is nasty

already have a new hard drive, what should i upgrade and with what?
>>337894128
what's a good, relatively cheap GPU?
>>337894241
Give us a price range to work with.
>>337894326
250-350 dollars
>>337894236
>first gen bulldozer
good god throw it away. update your bios and get whatever the best vishera chip is you can support. drop in a r9 whatever and you're good to go.
>>337894427
I can easily get latest i5 6600K with that.
>>337894212
that's great and everything but I have bills to pay
>>337894427
The R9 390 might to be a good choice, 300 odd dollars. Outperforms the 970 in almost every way, also not a victim of the 3.5GB meme.
If you're the guy with the 2500k the CPU might be a bottleneck for some games, maybe consider buying something somewhat cheaper or getting a new CPU.
>>337893910
by smashing it
>>337894454
anon he said GPU
>>337894427
I second the R9 390
>>337894448i don't know what any of that means
>>337893910
delete anything useful off it and use it as a dedicated porn machine. Then buy a new PC
>>337894679
>>337894771
thanks guys
what about cooling though? acquire thermal paste, clean the case, and then see if I should get a new fan as well?
