If you want maxed games at the highest resolutions, you'll need to upgrade sooner than every five years. If you want to play at higher than an average of 25 FPS at 900p with minimum settings you don't even need top of the line shit, just midtier 2012 laptop hardware like Sony used in the PS4.

You can literally play most PC games with like an Intel HD 530 (the integrated GPU on Skylake chips) on low settings. PCs can last longer than a console generation, but most people choose to upgrade more frequently because they don't want to live with console quality graphics.

There won't be, though. The only time that will happen is when they release a completely new console. How many iterations of the 360 and PS3 were there? No one needed to upgrade to keep playing games,, it was just a way for new customers to get the most current system and for old ones to have the option to get a more updated experience. It's literally the same shit as the last gen, only now Sony is making actual improvements, like a stronger GPU, instead of just making the console itself smaller and cheaper. There is literally no downside, and it's better than what happened last gen by far because you're getting the choice to have an actual improvement instead of just the same hardware in a different design with a different fan.

Nigga pls. There has been zero mention of the NX's backwards compatibility, and Nintendo's last 3 systems have been backwards compatible with the previous gen from the start. If you're using the fact that Zelda is going to be on the NX as your proof, Twilight Princess was on the Wii and it was still fully backwards compatible with the Gamecube.
