Jason Jones already said Reach was the end, and they had no plan to change anything. Reach's AA's were added purely because they didn't like how euipment worked in 3, and couldn't get it right in base Reach.

And I would guess if Bungie were to ccarry on with Halo for some strange reason, they would've been worked on and improved. AA's still are no were near as bad as teh loadout system H4 had, and the current movement system H5 has.
