Assuming that Ganondorf has been permanently written out of the story like Vaati, where does Nintendo go from here? They need a strong recurring villain rep for Smash Bros. games, but more importantly brand identity. A hero and heroine doesn't make a series.

Ganondorf will never be written out, he's the staple of the game. They release a main zelda game like every 5 years+ so they can get away with using him as the final boss every time.

Demise was nothing but pre-Ganon. They're not going to make a Sheikah a villain, Sheikas are way more leaning towards allies in the games. Their role is as helpers and Impa's clan. They'll just make somebody new, as they've done a ton of times before.

Ganon came from the spirit of Demise. Ganon/Demise will always exist in some form no matter what, this was said in Skyward Sword's finale. Ganon is a curse that will follow Link and Zelda's bloodline for all eternity because they're all bound by the Triforce.
Zelda fans need to shut the fuck up, Ganon is totally fine. They just need to make his presence more intimidating and impactful like it used to be.

Nintendo as a brand is no longer relevant. They exist today purely because of Pokemon and Mario, and to a lesser degree The Legend of Zelda.
Here's the thing. Anon here >>337813371 is right in that Ganon has been the same individual in almost all games and his story is more or less through in each timeline.
However, in Four Swords Adventures Hyrule Historia states he's NOT the same guy as in all the other games. From this we can gather that it's perfectly possible for another reincarnation to play a role in Zelda 2017 or any other future title.
HOWEVER, in many aspects HH is "Mental Gymnastics: the Book", and trying to reconcile the Four Swords games with the rest takes a particular amount of mental gymnastics. Which casts doubt on just how much value should be placed on the statement that Ganon can be reborn just like Link and Zelda.
tl;dr if you believe Ganon is always the same guy then his story has pretty much run its course in all possible directions, but there's a strong possibility he can play the rebirth card.
