I really appreciate Dark Souls 2 now after trying my second playthrough of Dark Souls 3.
Ds2 handled pvp and NG+ so much better.

I completely 100% agree.
Dark Souls 2 gets memed on a lot, but what it got right was making so many different things viable and making replayability value so high.
Dark Souls 3 had a fantastic first playthrough and design, but it honestly feels like a chore to play through multiple times.

I used to try to make myself think the "Dark Souls II is shit" meme was just a meme and I had fun for a while. The more I played the more I realized I was bored as shit and I was playing for the sake of finishing it. I stopped after I got the King's Ring and I don't think I'm ever gonna go back to finish it despite how close I am.
Despite not having poise Dark Souls III is miles more fun to play. NG+ isn't great but repeat playthroughs on NG are still way more fun than when I was playing II.
